On The Road

Here is the planned route for June/July – starting to feel like a potent mixture of excitement, anticipation/dread is filling my body as I write this – just 12 weeks to go…

The route to Ecclefechan and Beyond..

If you stick around, I’ll make it worth your while

5 March 2014

Hello!

On 14 June I will start what can only be described as a potentially doomed journey from John O’Groats in the far northeastern part of Britain, located in the fair Scottish county of Caithness. A journey that will take me approximately 1,200 miles through what I will theme initially as 3 weeks of cycling through beautiful countryside, but will inevitably degenerate into much pain and occasional swearing to hopefully (if I’m still alive) arrive in Land’s End (or Penn an Wlas to the locals).

I have no idea how blogs actually work so I apologise that this looks a bit basic at the moment. But I’ll level with you now.. it’s not going to get any better.

I hope to include much more information soon, and if you were wondering about the title – well I will be travelling through a favourite place name of mine ‘Ecclefechan’, and have themed the cycle ride as a journey through many of Britain’s strangest place names.
